2018-12-19 Update with Health re housing fundingUpdate with Health re Housing 2163 funding December 19, 2018 3:32 p.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, County Manager Erik Martin, Danette York, Meja Handlen, JP Anderson Guest: Dr. Lindsey Pollock Recorder: Rieva Lester Danette York said the Public Health & Social Services Advisory Board met Dec. 10 to review the Housing Ad Hoc Committee’s recommendations for awarding Housing 2163 fund (from document recording fees). She said the committee received nine applications seeking funding totaling $1.44 million. Danette, Meja Handlen and JP Anderson reviewed the committee’s following recommendations: Danette noted that the committee recommended denying Habitat for Humanity’s request due to the limited number of individuals the one low-income family home would serve. She said Funny Farm and Friends Without Homes also were denied because they did not meet the application requirements. Danette also noted that full funding was being recommended for only The Salvation Army. The commissioners supported the recommendations. Danette and Meja said they would draft a resolution for the BOCC’s approval.
