2018-12-31 BOCC Wrap UpBOCC Wrap-Up December 31, 2018 9 a.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, County Manager Erik Martin, Budget Services Manager Becky Butler, Treasurer Arny Davis, Daleyn Coleman (9:23 a.m.) Guest(s): Recorder: Rieva Lester Arny Davis said he is proposing reclassifying Shelly Stewart as office manager, taking her from a Grade 20 to a Grade 22. He noted some of Shelly’s new duties used to be covered by Rodney Reynolds’ position. Arny said the change will not affect the 2019 budget. Arny said June and July revenues are complete but that his office is still behind on revenues. Erik Martin said HR’s concern is whether it would affect Rodney’s duties. Becky Butler said the next move would be to approve the PAF, if the commissioners choose to do so. The group discussed the upcoming Road Map to Washington’s Future workshop. Erik said he may piggyback it with the Planning Commission’s meeting on Jan. 8. The group discussed the ongoing shutdown of the federal government. Becky noted that it could delay federal payments. Erik said the county worked on Skate Creek on Friday because the Forest Service was closed. Commissioner Fund said a local group wants to create a value-added processing facility in Lewis County, similar to what is done in Skagit and Whatcom counties. Rieva Lester said she had reviewed the office’s appointment list and reached out to responsible offices/departments and contacted individuals the BOCC appoints. Rieva said the PA’s Office plans to discuss the Lewis County Fire District 17 positions on Jan. 2. Commissioner Fund and Erik Martin discussed the Port of Centralia’s planned development. Daleyn Coleman joined at 9:23 a.m. Daleyn said the new job description for the Treasurer’s Office has been created. Daleyn said the new job description is completed and will be included with the PAF. TO-DO LIST / RECAP Erik: Talk to Wayne about surety bonds. Becky: Determine sales and use tax for Port’s proposed development. BOCC: Discuss potential future meetings with PUD, IPAT, Clerk’s Office, Assessor’s Office Daleyn left at 9:28 a.m. The group discussed the recent statewide 911 outage. The group discussed calendars. Becky suggested setting up a meeting with Lodging Tax Advisory Committee members prior to Commissioner Fund’s planned visit to lodging tax recipients. Meeting adjourned at 10 a.m.
