2019-10-16 Directors UpdateDirectors’ Update October 16, 2019 9 a.m. Present: Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, County Manager Erik Martin, Lee Napier, Becky Butler, JP Anderson, Matt Jaeger, Steve Mansfield, Lara McRea, Daleyn Coleman, Tamara Hayes Guests: Deborah Hilliard, Jimmy Hilliard Recorder: Rieva Lester Erik Martin discussed a call for bids for five (5) 40 FT waterproof storage containers for the Public Works Maintenance Division. Lee Napier discussed a notice of public hearing and proposed action to renew a moratorium upon certain building permits within the boundaries of water-sewer district #5 and directing the setting of a public hearing. Steve Walton discussed a resolution to accept a grant from the Washington State Department of Commerce to conduct a long-term feasibility study and develop a master plan for the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds. Steve Walton discussed a resolution to approve a contract to Provide Elevator Maintenance Services. Steve Mansfield discussed a resolution to approve an agreement between the Washington State Military Department and Lewis County Department of Emergency Services, Radio Services Division, for FFY 2019 State Homeland Security Grant Program (19HSGP) Funding Assistance. Commissioner Stamper discussed a resolution to approve a Personal Services Agreement between Lewis County and Robert K. Weidner. Erik discussed a resolution to approve the Lewis County Water District #1 Water System Comprehensive Plan for the Randle water district. Commissioner Stamper made a motion to move two Notice items, one consent item and five Deliberation items to the Monday, Oct. 21, 2019, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Fund seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. Tamara Hayes discussed a late add for Oct. 21: an RFP for the fair feasibility study. Commissioner Fund said she will add a proclamation honoring Matilda Jackson. Lara McRea discussed the new online portal for minutes and resolutions. Steve Mansfield discussed the Drop, Cover and Hold earthquake drill planned for the following day. Matt Jaeger discussed security measures IT is taking. Erik thanked Becky Butler for her work on the all-day budget meetings. Becky invited the group to the following day’s all-day budget meetings. Lee Napier said the “stakeholders report” update is planned for 2 p.m. Oct. 22. She noted that the Farm Bureau dinner is planned for Oct. 16. Commissioner Stamper thanked Lewis County staff for its continued involvement in the community. Commissioner Fund invited the group to the Oct. 26 event honoring Matilda Jackson. She invited the group to join her in wearing pink in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Meeting adjourned at 9:51 a.m.
