Facilities Maintenance
Becky Butler said the preliminary 2020 budget for Facilities Maintenance budget includes revenues
totaling $3,137,225 and expenditures totaling $3,137,181.
Doug Carey reviewed the process through which interfund rates are set.
Doug said Facilities is requesting a $58,746 increase to fund an additional custodian position. Doug gave
an overview of the duties the Facilities Department performs, including janitorial services, management
of the county parks, maintenance and repairs, etc. He noted that the county recently added an
additional building for which it must provide care: the Star Complex, which now houses the Guardian Ad
Litem program.
Frank Corbin asked if the county invests in equipment upgrades to help with speed and efficiency. Doug
listed some of the upgrades already in place and others planned for the future.
Capital Projects
Becky said the preliminary 2020 budget for the Capital Projects budget includes revenues totaling
$3,649,886 and expenditures totaling $4,878,192. She noted that Capital Projects is requesting a
$77,760 increase to cover a capital project coordinator position.
Doug outlined upcoming and completed Capital projects. He gave an update on the county’s plans for
Juvenile.
