More expenditures are due to Public Disclosure Requests.
The Risk Pool is composed of 22 Counties. There is a large
deductible to use that insurance ($100,000). There are
additional funds available to help with IT & Cyber Security.
Tawni Shepherd is a resource for making the workplace safe.
Safety rates have improved with safety awareness. Most claims
come from Public Works and the Sheriff’s office. They also deal
with internal emergency preparedness.
Lewis County is self-insured when it comes to dealing with workers’ compensation and unemployment.
This year PTSD has been accepted as a workers’ compensation claim. Currently it is only for Law
Enforcement and First Responders. This may result in more claims for Risk Management.
LEOFF1 is long term facility care. Currently there are 17 employees that participate in LEOFF1 care. At
this time there is one person receiving long term care.
