Rieva Lester noted that the resolution for the elevator services
would hold from the day’s Business Meeting.
Commissioner Stamper made a motion to add five items to the
day’s Business Meeting agenda:
• Issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP) from qualified
consulting firms to conduct a market demand and
financial feasibility study and develop a master plan
linked to economic development for the Southwest
Washington Fairgrounds.
• List the bids received and contractor selected for the Sand Sheds Construction Project.
• Minutes from the Oct. 14, 2019, BOCC meeting.
• Matilda Jackson Legacy Day proclamation.
• Breast Cancer Awareness Month proclamation.
Commissioner Fund seconded.
Motion passed 3-0.
The group discussed East Lewis County’s request to allow for interest-only payment for its .09 loan. The
commissioners said they’d like a copy of the original agreement and to meet with Lee Gross and the DPA
board.
Commissioner Jackson said he plans to meet with Bill Fashing regarding Lewis County’s exit from COG.
Erik Martin gave a brief history on Lewis County’s departure from COG.
The group discussed Gov. Inslee’s upcoming visit.
Erik Martin said Matt Matayoshi would like the county to identify one or two projects totaling up to $3
million that the county should ask for in the state’s supplemental capital budget. He noted that it
wouldn’t be for design work. Erik said Matt is coordinating with Rob Hill, Jill Anderson and himself to
help identify the projects. Among the possibilities:
• Bridge retrofits
