2019-10-23 Auditor Treasurer UpdateAuditor / Treasurer Update October 23, 2019 10:06 a.m. Present: Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, Arny Davis, Rodney Reynolds, Larry Grove, Suzette Smith, Becky Butler, County Manager Erik Martin (11 a.m.) Guest: Frank Corbin Recorder: Rieva Lester Rodney Reynolds noted that LGIP rates are down slightly. He provided updates on county revenues, including cash investment totals. Commissioner Jackson left at 10:38 a.m. The group discussed a recent budget amendment. Suzette Smith provided an overview of county expenditures within the General Fund and Other Funds. Suzette said staffing continues to be a concern, especially as two employees are preparing to leave on FMLA. Suzette said she will be hiring two casuals and one special project employee. She said the office’s financial analyst position also remains vacant. The group discussed the struggles to attract and retain employees. Erik Martin joined at 11 a.m. Commissioner Fund and Commissioner Stamper gave the Auditor’s Office approval to recruit a position at a higher level than the current cap, basing it on a percentage of the Chief Accountant pay.
