Notice of intent to accept surplus property from WA State Parks and Rec Commission BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 19-356 NOTICE OF INTENT FOR LEWIS COUNTY TO ACCEPT SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE WASHINGTON STATE PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION WHEREAS, the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission designated the Packwood State Park as Resource Recreation Area appropriate for surplus; and WHEREAS, the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission has proposed a transfer of said lands to Lewis County as a Resource Recreation Area; and WHEREAS, pursuant to RCW 36.34.340 counties may acquire property to be preserved for park or recreational purposes, and WHEREAS, the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) intends to accept the 175-acre land in Packwood, an unincorporated community in Lewis County, and WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to initiate the transfer of Packwood State Park from the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission to Lewis County. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED the Lewis County BOCC authorizes County Manager Erik Martin to negotiate the the terms and conditions of the proposed transfer of the 175-acre property known as Packwood State Park DONE IN OPEN SESSION this 2nd day of December, 2019 APPROVED AS TO FORM.
