LEWIS COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS,the health and safety of all Lewis County residents is important to the happiness, prosperity
and well-being of our county's families and communities; and
WHEREAS, Lewis County is the proud home of numerous dedicated members of law enforcement who
put their lives on the line daily to keep our communities safe, and
WHEREAS,these officers stand as leaders and teachers, educating the community about the importance
of public safety; and
WHEREAS,we appreciate the extraordinary efforts and sacrifices our law enforcement personnel and
their family make daily in order to protect our schools,workplaces, roadways and homes, and
WHEREAS, National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is an opportunity to show our support for law
enforcement;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT we, Lewis County Commissioners Gary Stamper, Edna J Fund
and Robert C.Jackson, do hereby proclaim January 9,2020,as Law Enforcement Appreciation Day
throughout this county We urge all the people of Lewis County to take a moment out of their day to
show appreciation to the law enforcement officers throughout Lewis County Citizens can show their
support by wearing blue all day,sending a card,or, most importantly,taking a moment to simply say
thank you.
