Becky Butler and Dianne Dorey said the county has its totals for new construction and state-assessed
utilities.
Dianne reviewed preliminary levy limitations for Lewis County’s General Fund.
Dianne noted that the figures likely will decrease as destroyed property and senior exemptions are filed.
Commissioner Jackson joined at 2:03 p.m.
Dianne Dorey said the new levy amount available is $13,542,770.
Dianne said the average tax rate goes up 8 percent to 10 percent annually, no matter what happens
with assessed values.
Dianne reviewed preliminary levy limitations for Lewis County Roads.
Dianne said the wind farm increased the county’s state-assessed utilities total.
Dianne said the UNFI project pushed the county’s new construction totals higher.
Dianne said the county issued 600 permits for new home construction between June 1 and Sept. 30,
2019.
