Eric Eisenberg said Fire Mountain Farms and Emerald Kalama have asked Ecology:
• To delist certain wastes that Fire Mountain got from Kalama Chemical / Emerald Kalama
• To provide a variance that the materials can go to a landfill without being treated first
Eric said the group wants permission to put the materials in a landfill, not apply it to land.
Eric explained that Fire Mountain Farms and Emerald Kalama would have to develop a waste disposal
plan within 60 days of approval and that transport and storage would have to be addressed.
The group discussed how the disposal might take place.
Jared Wenzelburger left at 10:20 a.m.
Eric noted that comment to Ecology is due by Dec. 12.
The commissioners asked Eric to submit a letter on the county’s behalf by the deadline.
