2017-01-05 Staff meetingStaff meeting January 5, 2017 1:11 p.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, and Commissioner Jackson Recorder: Rieva Lester The Commissioners reviewed the list of committees and appointments for 2017. The Commissioners discussed holding press conferences twice a week: once after BOCC meetings on Mondays and once after Directors Update meetings on Wednesdays. The Commissioners discussed using those press conferences in lieu of one-on-one interviews as an effort to have all commissioner voices heard at once. The Commissioners discussed the fact that all meetings are open and that minutes are taken. The group talked about the media being a component in attracting industry. The group discussed continuing to use Facebook and other social media avenues to reach the public. Purchase table at Chamber’s annual banquet at the Little Red Barn on Highway 6 Commissioner Jackson left at 2:59 p.m. Candy Hallom joined the meeting at 3:07 p.m. Commissioner Jackson returned at 3:32 p.m. The Commissioners discussed their calendars for the upcoming week. The group discussed a landowner who has indicated they may be willing to donate property that could be used to house a dispatch center. Commissioner Jackson resigned from the Public Facilities District (PFD). The group talked about the need to create a press release for the PFD opening. The group reviewed the bios listed on the county website. The group discussed the fact that Paulette is not the only county employee who telecommutes. They discussed the benefit of retaining her.
