Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Candy Hallom, Rachel
Hunt, and Rieva Lester.
Tom Crowson and Sandra White joined the meeting at 9:32 a.m.
Mayors’ Meeting agenda to include: Legislative update, Matt Matayoshi, Julie Shaffley, rotating list of
speakers, Discover Lewis County. Legislative update. The group discussed extending the meeting for an
extra half hour. Rachel Hunt said she would reach out to Murry’s rep and Cantwell rep.
The commissioners decided to move Solid Waste to 1 p.m. and leaving Board of Health at 11 a.m. for
now.
The commissioners said they would like a press release about the press conference. It would include
public and media questions and would last 20-ish minutes.
The commissioners said they no longer would hold Coffee with the Commissioners.
The group went over the upcoming calendar. Rieva said she would contact Danette York and Glenda
Forga to let them know the commissioners will not attend subsequent meetings. The commissioners
said they’d still like to receive updates and agendas and will be available for questions, etc.
Commissioner Stamper said he’d like to talk to the Chamber about representation. The commissioners
talked about discussing the comp plan and the Chamber’s website, linking to Discover Lewis County.
The group discussed attending the Feb. 9 EDC banquet, speaking at the Young Professionals Lewis
County, John Smith’s request for meetings, and BOE training with Dianne Dorey.
The commissioners decided to purchase a new dispenser and continue having bottled water.
The commissioners decided to get rid of the signature box and keep the dry-erase calendar.
The group discussed creating a structure for press conferences and the Wrap-Up meetings.
