Discussion began about Tacoma Power and the Riffe Lake water level. Steve Mansfield reiterated
Tacoma Power helped with Lewis County Alert.
Commissioner Jackson changed the topic of conversation to possibly moving 911 to be under Emergency
Management.
The Commissioners asked Steve what his opinion is on the possibility. Steve expressed an interest in the
change. He outlined his qualifications for the transition, and why his experience in the Sheriff’s Office
reinforces this.
Steve Mansfield further outlined several desires before becoming a director.
Steve outlined the performance directed management system handout, which he has experience
teaching.
Discussion ensued about the different personalities involved in the 911 dispatch center.
Steve said we are producing a service and we need to define exactly what the service is.
Commissioner Fund asked if the transition happens how long he could stay with Lewis County and asked
for any further suggestions that could help the possible transition.
