Tamara began the meeting with an overview of a previous meeting with two previous Fair
Commissioners in regards to sponsorships and budgeting at the fair.
Steve Walton added input on the perception of how the County supports the fair.
Discussion transitioned to the Spring Youth Fair. Tamara outlined the fees associated with the use of the
fairgrounds for the event. She asked for input from the Commissioners on how to move forward with
contracts.
Commissioner Jackson added comments on how the current contracts are being handled.
The group discussed possible changes to how fair use contracts will be handled moving forward.
Tamara requested another meeting with the BOCC, her, and another event coordinator.
Steve Walton mentioned one item in the budget amendment set for Monday April 3rd includes a
$100,000 transfer to the fair to cover expenses related to the entertainment package approved by the
Board at a previous update. The amendment appropriates the funding, but it will be spent on an as-
needed basis only. The Board approved the transfer.
