2017-05-02 Prosecutor Update DRAFTMeeting with the Prosecutor’s Office May 2, 2017 2:01 p.m. Present: Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Stamper, David Fine, Eric Eisenberg, Glenn Carter, Jonathan Meyer, Janelle Kambich, Commissioner Jackson (joined at 2:03 p.m.) Recorder: Rieva Lester Jonathan Meyer urged the board to move forward with hiring a PDR attorney. Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson and Commissioner Stamper echoed those sentiments. Jonathan discussed hiring a DPA III for that position. Commissioner Jackson made a motion to allow the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to hire a civil attorney at a DPA III. Commissioner Fund seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. Jonathan discussed a request to increase salaries. Jonathan discussed using the Risk Pool’s outside attorneys less in an effort to save money. He said there are some cases that should be handled internally. Commissioner Fund asked to revisit the topic later and to include Paulette in that discussion. Commissioner Stamper said it’s important to include Risk on all pending lawsuits. Jonathan said he agreed. The commissioners asked for clarification regarding roundtables. David Fine and Eric Eisenberg walked them through the process. Commissioner Stamper discussed the state audits the county has gone through. The group discussed having one commissioner act as a liaison for the various departments. The group discussed the OPMA and the agendas. The group discussed using an asterisk on calendars to indicate the meeting is one at which one or more commissioner may attend. The group discussed Board of Health, Solid Waste, and ESC. The group also discussed creating policies and procedures. The group discussed how to subscribe to various Outlook calendars. Jonathan Meyer and Janelle Kambich left at 2:44 p.m. The group continued discussing agendas. Commissioner Jackson left at 3:10 p.m. Glenn Carter left at 3:12 p.m. David Fine left at 3:13 p.m. Commissioner Jackson returned at 3:13 p.m. Commissioner Stamper left at 3:32 p.m. Meeting adjourned at 3:43 p.m.
