2017-05-30 Meeting regarding the County FleetMeeting regarding the County Fleet May 30, 2017 Meeting start time- 11:52 a.m. Attendees: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Fund, Becky Butler, Steve Walton, Erik Martin, Lara Seiler, Tim Mixer. Recorder: Rachel Hunt The group discussed previous purchasing practices of fleet vehicles utilized by the Sheriff’s Office. Erik discussed the budget implications of the possibility of purchasing 3 or 6 vehicles. The difference in price is about $120,000. Becky Butler addressed the commission about asking the Sheriff about what their need for 6 vehicles is. Commissioner Jackson asked about previous purchasing freezes. Under previous Sheriffs the purchasing practice was 5 vehicles a year. Becky Butler and Erik Martin further clarified the approval process of buying new vehicles. Commissioner Stamper said he would like to compare currently staffing levels and vehicles to previous years. The group to have another meeting when to discuss the topic further with the Sheriff. Commissioner Jackson left the meeting at 12:22 p.m. Meeting adjourned at 12:24 p.m.
