2017-06-14 Directors UpdateDirectors’ Update June 14, 2017 9:12 a.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Lee Napier, Danette York, Tawni Shepherd, Steve Wohld, Becky Butler, Steve Walton, Carma Oaksmith, Tim Fife, Archie Smith, Steve Mansfield, Paulette Young (by phone and Skype) Guests: Susan DeLaire, Justyna Tomtas Recorder: Rieva Lester The group discussed a Proclamation recognizing June 24, 2017, as the date for the American Red Cross Centennial Celebration. Lee Napier discussed a call for bids to rehabilitate the taxiway at the Ed Carlson Memorial Field – South Lewis County Airport. Becky Butler discussed a Notice of Hearing for the 2nd 2017 Budget Amendment for Current Expense and Other Funds. Steve Walton discussed a resolution regarding funds for the ATM machines at the Southwest Washington Fair. Steve Walton discussed a resolution to add funds to the Southwest Washington Fair Office Revolving Working Account. Tim Fife discussed a resolution approving a task assignment pursuant to an Interlocal Agreement with Tacoma Power regarding chip seal work by county crews. Tim Fife discussed a resolution to revise an existing policy regarding approval of work for other public agencies and county departments by the Lewis County Public Works Department. Tim Fife discussed a resolution to approve a franchise to Harmony Park Lot Owners Association to construct, operate and maintain water system facilities in Lewis County rights of way. The existing franchise is expiring, he said. Lee Napier and Danette York left at 9:24 a.m. Lee returned at 9:28 a.m. Commissioner Stamper discussed Ordinance 1275, which would amend Chapter 6.05 (“Animals”) of Lewis County Code. Danette York returned at 9:34 a.m. Commissioner Jackson made a motion to move one (1) Proclamation, two (2) Notices, two (2) Consent items, four (4) Deliberation items, and two (2) Hearings to the Monday BOCC agenda. Commissioner Fund seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. Roundtable Lee Napier said several contracts will be coming through. She said the Planning Commission toured the area. Danette York said the county needs a policy regarding retirements and going-away parties. Danette also discussed the policies requiring pre-approval for in-county travel. Steve Mansfield discussed a name change for Davis Creek Road. Becky Butler asked for a heads up regarding any budget amendments. She said she continues to work on rates. Steve Mansfield left and Glenn Carter joined at 9:55 a.m. Carma Oaksmith said Rodney Reynolds and Shannon Foister will be the US Bank card contacts. Archie Smith said the state budget could affect county employees. Meeting ended at 10 a.m.
