The Fire Marshal would like to place burn restrictions in effect 12:01am Tuesday July 18th.
The burn restriction would suspend the burn permits that are currently on-line.
The surrounding counties have already enacted burn restrictions.
Commissioner Stamper asked about the different layers of restrictions? The current recommendation
would still allow for recreational campfires, in approved pits, and propane stoves.
The building staff began taking moisture readings around July 1 with a initial reading of 40% and a more
recent reading down to 8-9%. Due to quickly changing conditions, the Board isn't always able to act
upon the resolution prior to enactment of burn restrictions by the Fire Marshal
The Board would like to see this item added to the Director's agenda and Monday's Business Meeting.
