Commissioner Jackson made a motion to approve the June minutes. Scott Tinney seconded. Motion
passed unanimously.
Rieva Lester discussed the upcoming employee picnic.
Becky Butler discussed the 2018 budget. She said the commissioners are aiming for a structurally
balanced budget. The group discussed PERS increases.
Daleyn Coleman said sick leave policies will change in 2018.
Commissioner Fund said the Legislative Roundup will be held at 9 a.m. Oct. 6.
Paulette Young discussed the Public Disclosure manager position and changes to PDR fulfillment,
including the need to track hours spent on PDRs. She said discussions are taking place regarding how to
take payments, whether it’s through GovQA or another route.
Steve Wohld discussed IT server storage. He said there’s no need to keep a cache of transient data.
Roundtable
Warren McLeod said unclaimed cremated remains have been interned. He said the drowning coalition
received a grant. He also discussed a new program that allows the donations of cribs to families in need.
Wes Rethwill said a memorial is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, for K9 Reign. He said National
Night Out is planned for August and that First Responders Day is the first day of the fair. Wes also
discussed a distracted driving law that takes effect July 23.
Jonathan Meyer said his office has been working on changing laws after a recent hit-and-run death.
Lee Napier said burn restrictions are in place. She said there are no restrictions on recreational fires.

Graham Gowing said a retirement party for Bev Granger is planned for 2-4 p.m. July 28.
Suzette Smith discussed the installation of ballot boxes as well as the State Auditor’s Office visit. She
said electronic fund transfers are now available for US Bank payments. She urged the group to read the
procurement card policy.
Becky Butler said she’ll continue to offer budget training.
Jonathan Meyer left at 8:54 a.m.
Steve Walton said the fair is Aug. 15-20. He said opening ceremonies will be held at 11 a.m. Aug. 15.
Danette York said her office will continue to try to secure grants for car seats. She said the Homeless
Connect event is July 27.
Sheila Gray said she recently attended a convention in Utah. She said she’ll be in Spokane the following
week.
Warren McLeod left at 8:59 a.m.
Steve Wohld said a bulk computer purchase is planned. He said buying in bulk can help save an
additional 30 percent.
Paulette Young left at 9:01 a.m.
Scott Tinney said July 19 is Lisa Wilson’s last day.
Shad Hail gave a shout-out to Facilities. He said truancy is increasing, as are all other areas, such as kids
on probation, etc.
Daleyn Coleman said the Red Cross will hold a blood drive Aug. 2. She also gave a shout-out to Facilities
for the construction work being performed in her office.
