Commissioner Jackson made a motion to add to the July 24, 2017, BOCC meeting the following three
items: a resolution to list bids received and contractor selected for the Oyler Bridge No. 201 Scour
Repair Project, a resolution to list bids received and contractor selected for the 2017 Debris Removal
project, and a resolution to approve a grant agreement with Lewis EDC to accept funding from the
“Distressed Counties Fund” for public facilities serving economic development; and to remove one
item: an amendment #1 to Interagency Agreement RCO # 17-1164 with the state Recreation and
Conservation Office. Commissioner Fund seconded.
Motion passed 3-0.
Good of the order: Commissioner Jackson discussed the Water Conservancy Board and his planned
attendance at the July 24 Winlock City Council meeting. Commissioner Fund discussed the elections
recently held for the new senior board.
Steve Walton joined at 9:19 a.m. and discussed potential candidates for the Fair Board.
Commissioner Fund discussed budget concerns regarding the Blue Ribbon Task Force’s recommendation
to hire a county manager. The commissioners discussed using a straw poll and / or web poll. They
discussed restructuring. The discussed holding public meetings to discuss the budget, the senior centers,
and the possibility of a county manager.
Rieva Lester asked for any topics for the Legislative Roundup and discussed food orders. She said a
company that visited the office said the idea for reflective glass won’t work because of the office
lighting. She said she has crafted a prototype for timecards.
Commissioner Fund discussed thank you correspondence for the Blue Ribbon Task Force and the Senior
Transition Team.
