At 3:35 p.m., Commissioner Stamper announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under
RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) 10 minutes to discuss litigation.
At 3:45 the Executive Session was extended for 5 minutes.
Becky Butler discussed payment options for pending litigation with the BOCC. David expressed a desire
to pay the settlement within this week separate from the attorney fees. Becky said a decision needs to
be made
The BOCC jointly waived attorney-client privilege for David Fine to be able to further explain why the
Commissioners were represented together instead of individually and represented by one county
deputy prosecuting attorney instead of three separate attorneys.
The board decided to take further time to think about and discuss the payment options presented.
David Fine and Suzette Smith left the meeting at 4:04 p.m.
The group discussed the upcoming budget discussion date and times.
The group discussed the status of marijuana revenue coming to Lewis County and the involvement of
the state Attorney General’s office.
Becky Butler discussed the court commissioner salary. Superior Court requests it to be tied to the
judges’ salary so that when the judges’ get an increase the court commissioner also gets an increase.
Commissioner Stamper and Jackson upheld the previous decision and it will be addressed again during
the 2018 budget meetings. The group discussed the salaries of other electeds being a part of the salary
commission.
Commissioner Fund left the meeting at 4:13 p.m.
Onalaska Alliance .09 funds- Commissioner Stamper and Jackson decided a bathroom maintenance was
not an appropriate use and would not receive reimbursement.
Becky Butler outlined the next steps in the budget process.
