1. Executive session - RCW 42.30.110(1)(i): Re: The Propp-Estimo lawsuit
–The Board went into executive session at 1:05 p.m for 20 minutes.
Sharyn & Justyna exited the room. Executive session was extended for 5
minutes. The Board came out of executive session at 1:30 p.m. No
decisions were made. Lisa hung up and John left. Sharon, Justyna and
Becky joined the meeting
2. Tort Claim Discussion
a. Gross – Claims rock chip damage to his boat by driving on chip
seal - $2,964 - $3,379.09 – Paulette will be recommending denial
– action with need to be taken by the BOCC – The BOCC voted 3-0
to deny the claim
b. Mayoh – Claims vibration from driving on Bunker Creek road
caused electrical failure to his car. $1,836.23 - $2,000.00 –
Paulette will be recommending denial – action will need to be
taken by the BOCC – The BOCC voted 3-0 to deny the claim.
3. Budget – No discussion
4. Funding source for the OMPA settlement – Discussion on where to fund
the OPMA settlement. Paulette said past practice was to have the
Department or Office that received the violation was expected to fund
the settlement or fine. She stated that it could possibly be paid for out
of 505 funds but she would not recommend that due to past practice
and setting out a precedent for future payments.
