Minutes: Commissioner Jackson made a motion to approve the July 2017 minutes. Jonathan Meyer
seconded. Approved.
Budget: Commissioner Fund and Becky Butler discussed the 2018 budget, including struggles and dates
set aside for budget meetings. Commissioner Fund reminded the group to leave vacancies open until all
leave is paid.
FMLA: Archie Smith discussed state changes to FMLA leave. He said the changes take effect in 2020.

Paid leave: Archie Smith discussed state changes to paid leave under Initiative 1433.
Archie said the changes will mostly affect casual employees. He said a rule-making meeting is set for
Aug. 29.
Public Disclosure: Paulette Young introduced Casey Mauermann, the new PDR manager. She said offices
that use Casey’s service will be responsible for having a point person and for searching their own drives
and files. She said a fee schedule will be set by the end of September. Commissioner Jackson gave
accolades to Kim Amrine, who took care of PDRs for the board for months. The group discussed the
need for further PDR reform.
Munis: Megan Sibbert said Munis is still on schedule with an April 1 “go-live” date. She discussed
“charge codes” for revenue. She said the payroll / HR phase will kick off in October with a July 1 “go-live”
start.
Roundtable
Scott Tinney said the Clerk’s Office has hired a new employee, Beth.
Hazel Dibble said the new employee passed her tests.
Graham Gowing invited the group to a meet-and-greet for Ross Petersen, the new PDR attorney.
Susie Parker said the new Drug Court manager starts Sept. 5.
Danette York introduced JP Anderson, her new deputy director.
Shad Hail said Juvenile Court will have an onsite nurse and doctor.
Suzette Smith said the annual state audit is still ongoing.
Steve Walton thanked the group for help with the fair.
Becky Butler asked the group to continue to conserve in their 2017 budgets.
Erik Martin said the scale-replacement project at the transfer station was a success.
Lee Napier said Community Development plans to attend a “lunch and learn” meeting with a Realtors
group to talk about permitting.
Warren McLeod said grant money is being used for drowning prevention ads. He said Cribs for Kids also
is moving forward.
Sheriff Rob Snaza said First Responders Day at the fair was a success.
Arny Davis said the county’s tax foreclosure sale may go online instead of in person.
Commissioner Jackson offered accolades for the firefighters who battled the previous night’s wildfires.
