Derek began the meeting with giving an overview of Washington County Risk Pool (WCRP).
The group reviewed a PowerPoint prepared by Derek Bryan.
Derek Bryan discussed the RCW allowing entities to be self-insured.
The group discussed the various counties who are members of the Risk Pool statewide.
Derek outlined the county appointed positions within the Risk Pool. He continued by discussing the
WCRP finances.
Derek discussed the WCRP property program and the rates for this program in Lewis County.
Derek outlined claim deductibles for the County and the liability structure for the claims.
The group discussed the frequency and severity of claims in Lewis County 2013- current.
Derek mentioned how the pool is financially strong although the claims and cost are trending upward.
Derek discussed what WCRP will be focusing on in the future. They are putting an emphasis on targeted
risk management, governmental responsibility, law enforcement/correction, interlocal cooperation.
Ron Averil joined the meeting at 3:55 p.m.
The group discussed how the Island County ruling is impacting WCRP.
