Commissioner Stamper discussed a proclamation recognizing September 11, 2017, as a day of
Remembrance and Commemoration.
Erik Martin discussed a notice to extend the temporary closure of a portion of Lakeside Drive to all
through traffic.
Erik Martin discussed a hearing notice regarding a franchise request from Gunderson Water Works,
which plans to construct, operate and maintain water system facilities in Lewis County rights of way.
Erik Martin discussed a call for bids for the proposed sale of surplus property located at 263 Roundtree
Road, Boistfort.
Erik Martin discussed a notice for a license for Sprint Communications Company L.P., which plans to
construct, operate and maintain telecommunication facilities in Lewis County rights of way.
Steve Walton discussed a resolution to appoint Sybil Kuhn and George Dodd to the Southwest
Washington Fair Commission.

Washington Fairgrounds.

Danette York discussed a resolution to approve a contract with the Human Response Network to
provide assistance to individuals who are at risk of or experiencing homelessness from July 1, 2017,
through June 30, 2019.
Erik Martin discussed a resolution to list the bids received and contractor selected for the 2017-2019
Debris Removal Project, County Project No. SW-CTS 17-19.

Rieva Lester said she would draft a resolution to appoint Tom Crowson to the Water Conservancy Board.
Commissioner Jackson made a motion to move one (1) Proclamation, four (4) Notice items, two (2)
Consent items, and eight (8) Deliberation items to the Monday, Sept. 11, 2017, BOCC agenda.
Commissioner Fund seconded the motion.
Motion passed 3-0.
Roundtable
Steve Mansfield discussed the wildfires across the Northwest as well as air quality concerns. He gave an
update on 911 moving to a guild. He said he is making progress on the interlocal agreement. He gave an
overview of Lewis County Alert.
Lee Napier discussed county and state burn restrictions. She said a burn status line has been established.
She said that, through August 2017, the permit center has fielded 10,249 phone calls, handled 235
septic permits, issued 407 septic records, and served 4,253 walk-in customers.
Erik Martin gave an update on the hiring process at Public Works.
Paulette Young asked for points of contact for PDRs.
Matt Jaeger said a Spillman conference is on the horizon.
Becky Butler said she presented the preliminary budget the previous day.
Archie Smith said the BOCC is looking at moving to Public Employees Benefit Board (PEBB) for insurance
for non-reps and big AFSME.
Sheila Gray gave an update on WSU Extension’s upcoming events.
Rieva Lester reminded the group to RSVP for the Legislative Roundtable as well as the United Way
Luncheon.
Meeting ended at 10:03 a.m.
