2017-09-19 Prosecutor UpdateProsecutor’s Update September 19, 2017 2:03 p.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Ross Petersen, David Fine, Janelle Kambich, Eric Eisenberg, Glenn Carter, Jonathan Meyer, Paulette Young (by phone) Guests: Justyna Tomtas, Sharyn Decker Recorder: Rieva Lester At 2:04 p.m., Commissioner Stamper announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) for 2 (two) minutes to discuss pending litigation. Executive Session ended at 2:06 p.m. David Fine left at 2:07 p.m. Dangerous dog hearings: Jonathan Meyer recommended going with a paid hearings officer. Commissioner Jackson said he understood the hearings officer would come from the sheriff’s office. Eric Eisenberg gave a brief history regarding the hearings. Eric discussed the rules regarding adjusting elected officials’ salaries. He said the constitution doesn’t allow the reduction of those salaries after their election or during their term in office. Law & Justice Council recommended code change: Local attorney would sit on the meeting, and the council would like to add an at-large seat to the Law & Justice Council. Separately, Eric said, the Council’s statute needs to be updated to reflect current RCWs. He said he would draft an ordinance for the changes. Jonathan suggested taking his concerns about the mandatory meeting to the Legislature. At 2:22 p.m., Commissioner Stamper announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) for 15 (fifteen) minutes to discuss pending litigation. At 2:37 p.m., the Board extended Executive Session for 10 (ten) minutes. Meeting ended at 2:47 p.m.
