Hearing examiner: Commissioner Fund said she has asked for suggestions regarding counties that use
outside help.
Rieva Lester discussed the points in County Codes 2.25 and 6.05.
Danette York joined the meeting by phone at 1:43 p.m.
Danette said the PA’s office has declined to fill in despite an existing Memorandum of Understanding
(MOU).
Danette said a hearing is set for Sept. 29.
Danette left the meeting at 1:49 p.m.
Commissioner Stamper said it was unclear whether Toledo would be eligible for LTAC funding.
Becky Butler joined the meeting at 1:53 p.m.
Becky said it’s unclear whether Toledo has implemented a tax for lodging taxes.
Becky said Toledo would be eligible to receive lodging taxes from the county.
Commissioner Fund said an applicant’s ability to put “heads in beds” should be weighed.
Becky said nothing in the application or RCW prohibits governmental agencies from receiving funding.
Commissioner Fund said she didn’t see where Toledo’s application indicates it would put “heads in
beds.” Becky said that if Toledo got people to camp, it would put heads in beds.
Becky suggested allowing applicants to attend the future allotment meetings merely to answer
questions.
Becky left at 2:06 p.m.
Commissioner Fund and Commissioner Stamper said they would be interested in attending the levee
tour if it was held Nov. 2.
The group discussed the upcoming calendars.
Commissioner Stamper said the office is required to have a safety officer. Candy said she was appointed
the office safety officer but couldn’t make the meetings because they interfered with LEOFF Board
meetings.
Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund and Commissioner Jackson said Rachel Hunt would replace
Candy as the office safety officer.
The group discussed the upcoming WACO / WSAC conference.
