2017-09-26 Update with IT
9/26/17 IT Director’s Monthly Update – Wohld, Commissioners Fund, Jackson and Stamper.
• Staffing Changes Wohld explained that IT now has a vacancy that necessitates a slight reorganization of the department and requested to reclassify a few positions. Wohld requested permission to promote an internal ITS 3 employee for the replacement of the newly vacated ITS 4 position. Wohld
further requested to move existing level 4 Linux server administration duties to Mitch Guthrie who is currently an ITS 3 and reclassify his position to an ITS 4 with these additional duties. Wohld showed a completed PAF form that he planned to send to HR and Budget for department level
review.
Wohld also requested to reclassify an existing ITS 3 Help Desk employee to an ITS 3 Network position, as well as hire the soon to be vacant ITS 3 Developer position as an ITS 3 Network position. These changes will help
strengthen IT and mitigate vulnerability with inevitable future turn over.
These changes do not increase the IT Services current level of full time employees.
Commissioner Jackson made a motion to allow Wohld to reorganize IT
Services to include the reclassification of Mitch Guthrie from an ITS 3 to an ITS 4. The motion further stated to approve the additional internal promotion and the non-financially impacting changes Wohld presented. This motion was seconded by Commissioner Fund. The motion carried
with a 3-0 vote in favor.
