2018 prelim budget
Revenue: $27,562,325, expenditures: $850,178; FTEs: 8.0
Revenue review
Becky Butler discussed Fund 132 and Fund 108, which also are covered by the Treasurer.
Expenditure review
Becky Butler said salaries, benefits, and interfund rates make up the bulk of the expenditures. She said
contract work also takes up a large chunk. Arny Davis said there was a scare that Ascend, the program
the county uses, was going to sunset. Arny said O&M also has an employee. Arny said cost-saving
measures include limiting conference use to local conferences.
Arny said he doesn’t see any big unfunded mandates on the horizon.
Becky discussed the upgrades the new Munis system will help the county realize.
Becky asked if landowners can opt out of mailings and can instead receive property tax statements
electronically. Arny said landowners can opt for electronic communication and payments.
Commissioner Stamper left at 1:55 p.m. and returned at 1:57 p.m.
Commissioner Stamper discussed Tacoma Power increase.
The group discussed investment revenue.
