Proclamations
Commissioner Stamper discussed a proclamation recognizing Oct. 8-14, 2017, as Fire Prevention Week
in Lewis County.
Commissioner Fund discussed a proclamation recognizing October 2017 as “Domestic Violence Action
Month” in Lewis County.
Commissioner Stamper discussed a proclamation for October as Lewis County Disaster Preparedness &
Lewis County Alert Awareness Month.
Sheila Gray discussed a proclamation acknowledging October 1-7, 2017, as Washington State University
Lewis County Extension 4-H Week.
Notice item
Erik Martin discussed the temporary closure of a portion of Carlisle Avenue, Onalaska, to all through
traffic. (Note: This was listed as a deliberation item.)
Deliberation items
Paulette Young discussed a resolution to approve Law, Lyman, Daniel, Kamerrer & Bogdanovich, P.S. to
represent county employees Danette York, Amy Hanson and Gabriel Frase in a litigation case in which all
three are named as defendants. She said it may get updated or even pulled.
Lee Napier discussed a resolution authorizing the Board of County Commissioner (BOCC) Chair to sign
the Community Rating System (CRS) recertification document.
Danette York discussed a resolution to approve an agreement between Washington State Department
of Licensing (WA DOL) and Lewis County to provide relicensing services.

Hearing
Commissioner Stamper discussed a hearing for Ordinance 1280, which would amend Chapter 6.05
(“Animals”) of Lewis County.
Commissioner Jackson made a motion to move four (4) Presentations, one (1) Notice, two (2) Consent
items, three (3) Deliberation items, and one (1) Hearing to the Monday Oct. 2, 2017, BOCC agenda.
Commissioner Fund seconded the motion.
Motion passed 3-0.
Roundtable
Danette York said an officer used his Naloxone kit, which was secured through a grant, to save a woman.
Lee Napier asked if the Board wanted to set a time to discuss lifting the county burn restrictions. The
board indicated it would like to meet by Friday.
Becky Butler suggested adding burn restrictions to Community Development’s agenda. She discussed
the day’s budget schedule.
Archie Smith discussed the county’s PEBB application.
Commissioner Fund discussed Centralia City Council’s meeting the previous day. She said the group
discussed Centralia Station.
