Becky Butler said an in-county department that wants to use one-tenth funding typically would come to
the commissioners for approval. Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund and Commissioner Jackson
agreed to proceed accordingly.
Archie Smith joined at 4:41 p.m.
Becky said she expects hard levy numbers by the week’s end.
Becky said the decisions should be wrapped up by the end of October. She said any interfund changes
would need to be done soon. She reminded the group that the informal informational meeting will be
held at 5:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20. She said the citizens group plans to tour facilities.
Steve Walton said Anil Puri and Larry McGee would like to meet with all three commissioners. Steve
asked how the board would like him to proceed regarding the senior centers.
Commissioner Fund said she met with a community member who said the senior centers could lease
their space out more and that 4-H needs more space and would be happy to move.
Steve said he would contact John Panesko to see if the senior group has made any forward motion.
Becky said work is being done on agreements that would allow the seniors to serve alcohol at the
centers.
Becky said Bill Wamsley discussed the possibility of a weed assessment hearing by mid-November
(possibly Nov. 13).
Archie discussed the possible switch to PEBB. He said Jefferson County has asked if Lewis County would
like to join its efforts. He reminded the group that the PA would have to give its blessing. Archie said
Jefferson County has indicated it would sue and ask for damages. He said he is not sure if Centralia plans
to file suit. Commissioner Fund said Sen. Braun has expressed interest in what hurdles the county is
trying to maneuver.
Commissioner Stamper left at 5:05 p.m. and returned at 5:07 p.m.
Becky left at 5:09 p.m.
Commissioner Jackson discussed his earlier meeting with Mark Anders.
