2017-11-01 Directors UpdateDirectors’ Update November 1, 2017 9:06 a.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Steve Mansfield, Lee Napier, Erik Martin, Danette York, Tawni Shepherd, Becky Butler, Steve Walton, Sheila Gray, Daleyn Coleman, Steve Wohld (9:09 a.m.) Guests: Justyna Tomtas, Susan DeLaire Recorder: Rieva Lester Erik Martin discussed a resolution regarding the proposed acquisition of additional right of way for North Fork Road. Steve Wohld joined the meeting at 9:09 a.m. Daleyn Coleman Discussed a resolution to approve an updated Lewis County Travel Policy. Lee Napier discussed a resolution to consent to the transfer of controlling interest in WaveDivision I, LLC. Commissioner Jackson made a motion to move two (2) Consent items, two (2) Deliberation items, and one (1) Hearing to the Monday, Nov. 1, 2017, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Fund seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. Steve Walton discussed a resolution that may be added late. Steve Mansfield discussed the upcoming flood meeting. Lee Napier said she would be attending the evening’s Farm Bureau meeting. She discussed an upcoming land-use meeting. Erik Martin discussed a recent Public Works meeting regarding flood preparation. Danette York said one of the BHO advisory board plans to step down. She said document recording fee RFP will go out soon. Paulette Young said efforts to set PDR fees are moving forward. Becky Butler said final budget meetings are taking place. She said final rates are due. Steve Wohld said he recently attended the Association of Counties and Cities conference, at which cybersecurity was discussed at length. He said he attended the previous day’s levee tour. Steve Walton said the cold weather shelter is holding an open house at 6 p.m. Nov. 2. Sheila Gray discussed an upcoming Women in Ag conference. Daleyn Coleman discussed a recent conference she attended regarding sick leave. She said there will be many changes that will affect all aspects of the county. She also discussed upcoming FMLA changes. She said the sick leave initiative was part of the $15 minimum wage initiative. Rieva Lester reminded the group to submit resolutions and ordinances to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office in a timely manner. Commissioner Fund discussed the previous day’s levee meeting. Meeting ended at 10:06 a.m.
