2017-11-27 BOCC Wrap UpBOCC Wrap-Up November 27, 2017 9:09 a.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Danette York Guest: Ron Averill Recorder: Rieva Lester The commissioners signed the corrected version of Resolution 17-340. Ron Averill discussed questions regarding the county budget and the Lewis County Seniors Board’s budget. He said the group has only $45,000 in the bank and that he did not realize the money the commissioners pledged would be for the Nutrition program. The group reviewed minutes from the commissioners’ Nov. 9, 2017, meeting, during which the commissioners had approved funding for the Nutrition program. Commissioner Jackson asked about the $150,000 the seniors groups have collected and set aside. Danette and Ron said they would make the corrections to the Seniors Board’s proposed budget. Danette discussed funding through the Mental Health tax. She said she will set up a meeting to see if the BHO can provide funding for the Cascade Mental Health programs. Danette left at 9:41 a.m. At 9:49 a.m., the commissioners recessed the meeting until 10:20 a.m. At 10:51 a.m., the meeting resumed with Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, Erik Martin and Bob Guenther present. Commissioner Fund discussed the 2018 budget and shared information she learned at the recent WSAC conference regarding the state’s reorganization efforts. Matt Matayoshi joined at 10:57 a.m. The commissioners discussed the $20,000 set aside in the 2018 BOCC budget to potentially hire a consultant to look into the feasibility of hiring a county manager. Matt discussed the county’s unemployment rate. Meeting ended at 11:09 a.m.
