2020-01-15 Update with PAUpdate with PA’s Office January 15, 2020 3:32 p.m. Present: Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, County Manager Erik Martin, Becky Butler, Cullen Gatten, Steve Wohld Recorder: Rieva Lester At 3:33 p.m., Commissioner Stamper announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) for 15 minutes to discuss pending and / or potential litigation regarding a Firemans Fund settlement offer and the O’Connor v. Lewis County case. Executive Session ended at 3:48 p.m. Commissioner Stamper noted that no decisions had been made. Commissioner Fund made a motion to authorize counsel to negotiate with Firemans Fund related to Restorical Research and to authorize the County Manager to negotiate as outlined in Option 2. Commissioner Jackson seconded. Motion passed 3-0. Commissioner fund made a motion to authorize Cullen Gatten to negotiate a settlement regarding O’Conner v. Lewis County, 19-20489734. Commissioner Jackson seconded. Motion passed 3-0. Erik Martin said he is directing the Clerk of the Board to draft a press release regarding an upcoming hearing related to an ordinance that would allow the county to withhold for county use a portion of sales tax that already is being collected. Commissioner Stamper said Trent Richardson reached out to him and said Tacoma Power wants to renegotiate its lease with a 220 percent increase. Meeting adjourned at 3:54 p.m.
