Coroner Warren McLeod gave an update on 2019 statistics: 811 deaths, of which five were homicides
(two of which were officer-involved shootings and two of which were domestic violence), 20 suicides, 27
suicides, 27 accidental and seven undetermineds.
Warren provided an update on 2020 statistics year to date: 60 deaths, of which two were suicides, two
were accidental deaths and two are pending.
Warren reviewed recent cases that have required additional staffing in 2020.
Warren said the Coroner’s Office already has three indigent cremations for 2020.
Warren said he is working with HR to expand his casual positions into part-time and full-time positions.
Warren said he will determine the amount of outstanding 2019 bills.
