Josh Metcalf discussed a call for bids for the material purchase of two precast concrete split box culverts for future installation. Josh Metcalf discussed a call for bids for one (1) enclosed service body for the Public Works Survey division. Chief Chris Sweet discussed a resolution to approve the purchase of Smith Detection B-Scan from Command Sourcing Inc. Josh Metcalf discussed the necessary acquisition of additional right of way for Jackson Hwy South MP 2.108, Toledo. Bill Wamsley discussed a resolution to appoint Victor Khvoroff and Nancy Toenyan to the Lewis County Noxious Weed Control Board. Lee Napier discussed Final Plat Approval of Ron Brown Estates Subdivision located within the Centralia Urban Growth Area. Josh Metcalf discussed a settlement agreement with McClure and Sons. Commissioner Fund said there may be a late add: a proclamation celebrating Farm Bureau’s 100th anniversary. Commissioner Fund made a motion to move three notice items, two consent items and five deliberation items to the Monday, March 2, 2020, BOCC agenda. Commissioner Jackson seconded the motion. Motion passed 3-0. Daleyn Coleman said the paid family medical leave at the state level is 10 weeks behind with payments. Bill Wamsley invited the group to a March 26 workshop about invasive weeds and insects. Steve Wohld discussed upcoming changes to yard maintenance. Doug Carey discussed the purchase of a frame for a historic map using money from the Historic Preservation Fund. Matt Jaeger discussed matters before the state Legislature. Josh Metcalf said FEMA would be on site Feb. 27 to review the damage from winter storms. John Abplanalp said the state has identified Maple Lane as a possible coronavirus containment site. Lee Napier discussed a vacancy in Community Development. Erik Martin encouraged the group to fill out the Strategic Planning survey. Tamara Hayes invited the group to upcoming Fair strategic planning sessions. Becky Butler said the State Auditor’s Office (SAO) is on site and is working on 2018 audits. She said the Treasurer’s Office is continuing its reconciliation work. Commissioner Stamper discussed the Forest Service’s work on Resource Advisory Committee funding. He also discussed the American Forest Resource Council’s lawsuit regarding DNR management plans, noting that Lewis County has joined the lawsuit. Commissioner Fund discussed code enforcement matters as well as bills being discussed at the state Legislature. Meeting ended at 9:41 a.m.
