Josh Metcalf discussed the organization of Public Works and a proposed reorganization.
Josh discussed the need for succession planning, the need for improved efficiencies and the need to
examine management-level positions.
Becky Butler joined at 10:40 a.m.
Josh discussed the possible takeover of area water systems. He noted that the county has fielded calls
from small districts in the area that are interested in having Lewis County take over their districts.
Josh noted that Thurston County has cooled talks regarding Lewis County systems owned by Thurston
County.
Josh outlined changes to the org chart, including a reclassification in the bridge division.
Josh discussed upcoming retirements and staffing in general.
Josh discussed a restructuring that will move permitting efforts to Community Development (for road
approachments, spray agreements, etc.).
Josh provided an update on arbitration, for which a decision is expected by the end of April.
