2020-03-30 BOCC Wrap-Up COVID-19BOCC Wrap-Up / COVID-19 meeting March 30, 2020 4 p.m. Present: Commissioner Jackson, Commissioner Stamper (by phone), Commissioner Fund (by phone), County Manager Erik Martin, Johnathan Meyer, Andy Caldwell, John Abplanalp, Becky Butler, Scott Smitherman, Steve Wohld Guests: Matt Matayoshi Recorder: Rieva Lester by phone / video John Abplanalp said Lewis County now has 10 total confirmed cases of COVID-19. He said the three new cases involve individuals in their 50s and 60s whose tests were confirmed over the weekend. The group discussed testing opportunities as well as housing plans for homeless individuals who may test positive for COVID-19. Andy Caldwell discussed the state’s new tier system for supplies. He said the new system may prove detrimental to Lewis County. Andy discussed donations as well as responses to surveys the county sent out to area businesses regarding the local effects of COVID-19. Erik Martin said a new HR policy rolled out the previous week. He noted the policy is set to run through April 6, 2020. Becky Butler discussed funding available from the Department of Justice and other sources. She said the county will determine to which funding sources it can apply. Commissioner Fund discussed funding available for the Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging (LMTAAA). Steve Wohld invited the public to check out videos the commissioners, other elected and others are posting. The commissioners approved sending a letter to Gov. Inslee regarding a plea to allow the “touchless” sales of vehicles. Commissioner Fund recapped Gov. Inslee’s press conference from earlier in the day. The commissioners said they’d like to send a copy of their letter to the area car dealerships. The group discussed their calendars, including possibly holding a Directors’ Meeting at 9 a.m. or 10 a.m. April 1. Commissioner Fund made a motion to approve Resolution 20-107. Commissioner Stamper seconded. Resolution 20-107: In the matter of warrants and / or payroll for payments of claims against various county departments. Chief accountant Suzette Smith, representing the Auditor’s Office, said warrants 826,935 through 827,103, 827,128 through 827,317 and 827,328 through 827,385 were issued for payments against the county totaling $1,265,527.10. She said payroll/tax deposit warrants 795,754 through 795,758 and Automatic Deposits 9588 through 10,172 also were approved for payments against the county totaling $1,615,842.86. She noted a skip in sequence for warrants 826,862 through 826,934, 827,104 through 827,127 and 827,318 through 827,327, which were issued on behalf of Special Purpose Districts. Motion passed 3-0. Meeting adjourned at 5:02 p.m.
