2020-04-28 BOCC Wrap-Up COVID-19BOCC Wrap-Up / COVID-19 April 28, 2020 3 p.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper (remotely), Commissioner Fund, (remotely), Commissioner Jackson, County Manager Erik Martin (remotely), Becky Butler, Steve Wohld, Scott Smitherman (remotely), Jonathan Meyer (remotely), Tamara Hayes (remotely), Lara McRea (remotely), Josh Metcalf (remotely), Cullen Gatten (remotely), Lee Napier (remotely), Amber Smith (remotely) Guests: Larry McGee (remotely), Bill Serrahn (remotely), various members of the public and press Recorder: Rieva Lester Becky Butler said the county has learned it will receive funding for its COVID-19 response. She said the funding will be from the Department of Commerce and that it will be used to reimburse the county for COVID-related expenditures. She said the money cannot be used to cover lost revenue. Commissioner Stamper said he would like to attend a virtual meeting with representatives from each county on April 30. Commissioner Stamper said Lewis County’s county-owned parks usually open beginning Memorial Day weekend. Larry McGee said a friend is donating 4,000 masks. Erik Martin said WSU and OSU have said they will be open for fall classes. Commissioner Fund thanked Max Vogt and others for recent donations to the area food banks. Commissioner Stamper and Erik discussed a policy Lee Napier helped draft regarding plans for when the county reopens. Steve Wohld said he has reached out to offices and departments to gauge their needs for reopening. The commissioners discussed their calendars for the following week. Commissioner Jackson discussed a tour of the congregate housing at the fairgrounds as well as a meeting he had earlier in the day regarding Lewis County Together. Erik Martin said 16 local cases are beyond the 28-day mark. Of those, he said, 14 individuals have recovered and two died. Meeting adjourned at 3:33 p.m.
