2020-05-19 BOCC Wrap UpBOCC Wrap-Up / COVID-19 meeting May 19, 2020 3:03 p.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper (remotely), Commissioner Fund (remotely), Commissioner Jackson, County Manager Erik Martin, Josh Metcalf, Becky Butler, Steve Wohld (remotely), various other county employees (remotely) Guests: Various members of the public and press (remotely) Recorder: Rieva Lester County Manager Erik Martin said the county has not learned of any new COVID-19 cases. Commissioner Stamper asked for an update on the 150 tests taking place at the Riverside nursing home. Erik said he has not heard of any new positive cases. Erik Martin said the governor’s office has outlined new criteria for applying for a variance. Erik thanked Commissioner Stamper for reaching out to Arbor for a letter of support. Erik said JP Anderson has indicated that Dr. Rachel Wood supports the county’s work to apply for a variance. Erik said he has drafted a letter of support for the mayors to sign, should they wish. Erik said Lee Napier is developing a back-to-work outline for county offices and departments. Steve Wohld said Law and Justice plans to open June 1. Erik said Undersheriff Wes Rethwill has indicated that the Sheriff is submitting a letter of support regarding the county’s variance application. Commissioner Fund said the state is still working on guidelines for how counties can apply for a Phase III variance. Meeting adjourned at 3:22 p.m.
