2020-05-28 BOCC Wrap-Up COVID-19BOCC Wrap-Up / COVID-19 Meeting May 28, 2020 3 p.m. Present: Commissioner Stamper (remotely), Commissioner Fund (remotely), Commissioner Jackson, County Manager Erik Martin, Larry McGee (remotely), JP Anderson, Tawni Shepherd (remotely), Lara McRea (remotely), Dr. Lindsey Pollock (remotely), Amber Smith (remotely), Allison Puckett (remotely), Scott Smitherman (remotely), Gary Fredricks (remotely), Becky Butler, Lee Napier (remotely) Recorder: Rieva Lester Commissioner Stamper made a motion to approve Resolution 20-171 to extend adjustments made to county operations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Commissioner Fund seconded. The group discussed the extension of building closures. Commissioner Fund noted that the courts are opening June 1. Motion passed 3-0. Erik Martin said he is reviewing an updated draft of the Back to Work policies and procedures. The commissioners agreed to cancel the May 29 COVID-19 meeting. The commissioners agreed to eliminate the Friday COVID-19 updates. JP Anderson discussed the county’s planned response to Gov. Inslee’s plan requiring nursing home workers to undergo COVID-19 testing. The commissioners discussed a letter wedding venues had sent. Commissioner Fund and Commissioner Stamper asked that a copy of the letter be sent to area lawmakers. JP Anderson said the state may soon release information outlining how counties can request a variance for Phase 3. Larry McGee said results from a recently distributed business survey will be ready June 2. Meeting adjourned at 3:32 p.m.
