CLASS OF 2021,7
LEWIS COUNTY BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
WHEREAS,members of Lewis County's Class of 2020 have experienced the dramatic interruption of their
education and social lives and have worked hard to graduate despite the challenges of completing the school year
in virtual classes;and
WHEREAS,these young people have had to give up so many of the things that make high school memorable:
sports,field trips,concerts,theatrical performances,club activities and prom—not to mention their traditional
graduation ceremonies;and
WHEREAS,members of the Class of 2020 have overcome these disappointments—and more—on their way to
commencement and have demonstrated their commitment to education as well as their faith in the future;and
WHEREAS,this year's graduating class contains students who have achieved excellence in academics,agriculture,
athletics, business,engineering,theater,music and much, much more;and
WHEREAS,these students deserve to have their achievements recognized by their family members,friends,
neighbors,coaches and educators within their communities and beyond; and
WHEREAS,the Lewis County Board of County Commissioners(BOCC) recognizes the resilience these young
people have shown and commends them for their tenaciousness;and
WHEREAS,the BOCC also gives special commendation to the valedictorians and salutatorians from the area's 11
school districts.
NOW,THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC recognizes the members of the Class of 2020 for their
ambition,drive and resilience and looks forward to the positive ways in which these graduates will help shape
Lewis County's future.
