Becky Butler and Larry McGee outlined the commissioners’ previous discussions regarding point-to-
point broadband.
Breeze owner Peter Crosby said his plan would be to provide point-to-point service to 300 locations in
Lewis County using Coronavirus Relief Funding and then expand coverage, with a potential reach of 900
customers.
Peter outlined the potential service area, noting that it could go as far east as Onalaska.
Becky clarified that the county would be providing money for equipment. Becky said all services would
have to be completed by Oct. 31, 2020.
Amber Smith said the county could enter into lease agreements regarding the use of county property for
equipment. She said she is looking into RFP requirements.
The commissioners directed Becky to continue working on the project.
Peter said Breeze’s plan range from $49 to $79 per month.
Commissioner Jackson said Lewis County now has 104 confirmed COVID-19 cases.
