Present: Commissioner Stamper, Commissioner Fund, Commissioner Jackson, County Manager Erik

Recorder: Rieva Lester
John Abplanalp said the county has learned of six new COVID-19 cases. He said one patient has been
hospitalized.
Andy Caldwell said he is concerned because it seems PPE is getting harder to obtain. He said orders are
not being filled as they had been. Andy noted that 75 brands of hand sanitizer have been deemed
unhealthy and that the development may be linked to a delay in those fulfillments.
Dr. Rachel Wood encouraged families to keep up-to-date on immunizations and to get their flu
vaccinations when those become available. She noted that flu symptoms can be similar to coronavirus
symptoms, so making sure individuals receive their flu vaccines could help prevent an unnecessary strain
on COVID tests. Dr. Wood also discussed work being done to create a COVID-19 vaccination.
JP Anderson outlined tightened restrictions Gov. Inslee had announced earlier in the day. He said it
appears many of the new rules go into effect July 30 and that rules regarding weddings and funerals go
into effect in Aug. 6.
Dr. Wood, John Abplanalp and JP Anderson left at 4:25 p.m.
At 4:26 p.m., Commissioner Stamper announced that the Board was going into Executive Session under
RCW 42.30.110(1)(i) for 10 minutes to discuss pending or potential litigation regarding Central Shop and
Global Settlement Negotiations. Executive session started at 4:27 p.m.
Executive Session ended at 4:37 p.m. Commissioner Stamper noted that no decisions had been made.
Commissioner Jackson noted that attendance at the Economic Recovery Forum has waned.
The group discussed calendars and decided to cancel the following week’s Economic Recovery Forum
and instead add it as a discussion point to the commissioner’s Community Development Block Grant
(CDBG) CV-1 meeting with area mayors.
Commissioner Stamper discussed lending support to a new health care facility that was not eligible for
funding because it wasn’t in business the previous year. Erik Martin noted that the county has provided
the doctor with PPE.
Steve Wohld joined at 4:52 p.m.
The commissioners approved minute folders for the weeks of June 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 as well as July 6.
Becky Butler discussed business grants and Coronavirus Relief Funding.
Commissioner Fund left at 4:53 p.m.
Based on guidance from Commerce, Becky Butler said the county is looking at tents rather than RV sites
for non-congregate housing. She and Steve Wohld said Commerce has approved of the bathroom
remodel.
Meeting adjourned at 5:03 p.m.
