Approve Amendment A with The Salvation Army, Eviction Rental Assistance Program Grant BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON
IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 21-057
APPROVE AMENDMENT A BETWEEN LEWIS
COUNTY AND THE SALVATION ARMY TO ADD
FUNDS THROUGH THE HOUSING ASSISTANCE
UNIT EVICTION RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
GRANT AND EXTEND DURATION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), Lewis County,
Washington, has reviewed Amendment #T01-0103-20-A with The Salvation Army
to mitigate potential evictions by paying rents to landlords; and
WHEREAS, The Salvation Army will provide rental assistance for persons who are
at or below 50% of the median income and have at least one month not paid or
partially paid that meet other eligibility criteria outlined in the ERAP guidelines;
and
WHEREAS, additional funding in the amount of $91,430 will be added to the
original of $546,330 for a total of $637,760 through the housing assistance unit
Eviction Rental Assistance Program Grant (ERAP) and the duration will be
extended to June 30, 2021; and
WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution
of said contract.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Agreement #T01-0103-20-A between
Lewis County and The Salvation Army to provide additional funds to be used to
mitigate potential evictions by paying rents to landlords in the amount of $91,430
for a total of $637,760 from December 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021, is hereby
approved and the Director of Public Health & Social Services is authorized to sign
the same.
