Approve an amendment with The Salvation Army, Emergency Solutions COVID19 Grant in the amount of $302,000. BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 21-058 APPROVE AMENDMENT BETWEEN LEWIS COUNTY AND THE SALVATION ARMY TO PROVIDE FUNDS THROUGH THE HOUSING ASSISTANCE UNIT EMERGENCY SOLUTIONS COVID19 GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $302,000 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), Lewis County, Washington, has reviewed Amendment #TSA-ESG-CV-A, with The Salvation Army to provide funds to prevent, prepare for and respond to the coronavirus pandemic among individuals and families who are homeless or receiving homeless assistance by developing and maintaining a shelter; and WHEREAS, duration of agreement will be extended from November 1, 2020, through September 30, 2022; and WHEREAS, funding in the amount of $302,000 is added to the original amount of $76,000 for a combined total of $378,000 through the housing assistance unit Emergency Solutions COVID19 Grant; and WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said contract. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Agreement #TSA-ESG-CV-A between Lewis County and The Salvation Army to provide funds to develop and maintain a shelter to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in the amount of $302,000 from November 1, 2020, through September 30, 2022, is hereby approved and the Director of Public Health & Social Services is authorized to sign the same.
