Approve Amendment B to agreement with Dept of Commerce, Housing Assistance Unit Eviction Rental Assistance Program Grant BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 21-095 APPROVING AMENDMENT B TO AGREEMENT BETWEEN LEWIS COUNTY AND THE DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE TO PROVIDE FUNDS THROUGH THE HOUSING ASSISTANCE UNIT EVICTION RENTAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $353,022 WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC), Lewis County, Washington, has reviewed Agreement #21-4614C-116, Amendment B, with the Department of Commerce (DOC) to provide funds to be used to prevent evictions by paying past due rents for those with the greatest needs due to the COVID-19 outbreak; and WHEREAS, additional funding in the amount of $353,022 for a total amount of $1,129,682 through the housing assistance unit Eviction Rental Assistance Program grant (ERAP) is provided for the period of August 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021; and WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to authorize the execution of said contract. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Agreement #21-4614C-116, Amendment B, between Lewis County and DOC to provide funds to be used to prevent evictions by paying past due rents for those with the greatest needs due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the amount of $353,022 for a total amount of $1,129,682 from August 1, 2020, through June 30, 2021, is hereby approved and the Director of Public Health & Social Services is authorized to sign the same.
