Approve Stewardship Agreement with USDA Forest Service, Gifford Pinchot National Forest BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS LEWIS COUNTY, WASHINGTON IN THE MATTER OF: RESOLUTION NO. 21-108 APPROVING A STEWARDSHIP AGREEMENT NO. 17-SA-11060300-020 MODIFICATION 4 (FOUR), BETWEEN LEWIS COUNTY AND THE USDA FOREST SERVICE, GIFFORD PINCHOT NATIONAL FOREST THAT ADDS FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $13,955.64 AND CHANGES THE PERFORMANCE PERIOD FROM DECEMBER 31, 2020, TO DECEMBER 31, 2023 WHEREAS, the United States government (through the USDA Forest Service, Gifford Pinchot National Forest) and Lewis County propose to modify a Stewardship Agreement into which they previously entered, through No. 17- SA-11060300-020 Modification 4 (Four), to address management of noxious weeds; and WHEREAS, the modification to the Stewardship Agreement provides for management of noxious weeds on the Gifford Pinchot National by adding funding in the amount of $13,955.64 and changes the performance period from December 31, 2020, to December 31, 2023, between Lewis County and the USDA Forest Service, Gifford Pinchot National Forest; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has had an opportunity to review the Stewardship Agreement No. 17-SA-11060300-020 Modification 4 (Four), attached; and WHEREAS, it appears to be in the best public interest to approve and authorize this modification to the Stewardship Agreement, with the USDA Forest Service, Gifford Pinchot National Forest. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the BOCC of Lewis County (1) hereby approves of the terms and conditions of the attached Stewardship Agreement No. No. 17-SA-11060300-020 Modification 4 (Four), between Lewis County and the USDA Forest Service, Gifford Pinchot National Forest, and (2) hereby authorizes the Chair of the BOCC to sign the same on behalf of the county.
