Business Meeting minutes
June 15,2021
Present: Commissioner Stamper,Commissioner Pollock, Commissioner Swope
Recorder:Tammy Martin
Commissioner Stamper called the meeting to order at 2:00 p.m., determined a quorum and then
proceeded with the flag salute.
PUBLIC COMMENT
No public comment.
PRESENTATION
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to approve a proclamation recognizing June 19,2021, as
Juneteenth. Commissioner Swope seconded.
Proclamation recognizing June 19, 2021, as Juneteenth.
Commissioner Stamper read the proclamation into the record. Commissioner Swope commented that
he really liked the Juneteenth proclamation and thought it was a great idea.
Motion passed 3-0.
CONSENT ITEMS
Commissioner Swope made a motion to approve minutes from the June 8,2021, meeting as well as
Resolution 21-226. Commissioner Pollock seconded.
Resolution 21-226:Approval of warrants/claims against the various county departments.
Chief accountant Grace Jimenez, representing the Auditor's Office,said warrants numbered 842,604
through 842,643 and 842,669 through 843,116 were issued in June for payments against the county
totaling$915,450.63.She said warrants 795,832 through 795,833 and Automatic Deposits 26,733

through 27,313 also were approved for payments against the county totaling$1,109,542.19.Grace
noted a skip in sequence for warrants 842,644 through 842,668, which were issued on behalf of Special
Purpose Districts.
Motion passed 3-0.
DELIBERATION ITEMS
Commissioner Pollock made a motion to approve Resolution 21-227. Commissioner Swope seconded.
Resolution 21-227: Consent to forward the draft Shoreline Master Program to Washington State
Department of Ecology for review and comment.
Community Development Director Lee Napier discussed the resolution. Lee said Community
Development is seeking consent from the BOCC to forward the draft Shoreline Master Program to
Ecology for their review and comment prior to the BOCC holding a public hearing to thoroughly review
and consider the proposal for adoption.
Motion passed 3-0.
COVID-19
No updates provided.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Colonel Ron Averill said the members of the Farm Bureau had concerns over the Shoreline Master Plan
and were able to work out their differences to come to an agreement.
Edna Fund said that Juneteenth will be a federally recognized holiday in 2022. She said that Centralia is
the largest city founded by a person of color, George Washington.There will be a Juneteenth
celebration downtown Centralia on Saturday,June 19, 2021.
